As you enter into the world of Donna, The Cake Artist, cakes of every size and shape abound. Sweet aromas eminate from the oven as bowls of freshly whipped cream sit, waiting to be scooped up and blended with either a wild raspberry preserve or a perfectly tempered spoonful of ganache. It is a place I invite you to enjoy and explore.

I began my career 20 years ago after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Notre Dame in graphic design. Studying art was a lifelong passion of mine and upon graduating, I decided to apply my own artistic skills to an edible canvas, the cake.

Copenhagen Bakery in Burlingame, CA gave me my start. It was there that I honed my craft for 10 years and learned the most important ingredient for a successful business -- quality. In 1998, I moved to Nevada County and founded The Cake Artist adding one more ingredient to that list -- integrity. As a sole proprietor, my business is an extension of my name and such a reflection can only result in a journey filled with passion, honesty and creativity.

Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to have baked cakes for Lucasfilm, Larry Ellison of Oracle, and Stan Lee creator of Spiderman. And most of all, the many brides & grooms, moms & dads, and friends & lovers who have entrusted me with their vision.

I am always honored and humbled to be chosen to participate in such celebrations. Thank you for inquiring about my work.
